In response to the challenges presented by the unit's compact size and budgetary limitations, our team was tasked with reimagining the space to maximize its potential and highlight its verticality. Our design solution incorporates adaptable open grid shelving units that are both versatile and multifunctional, serving as bookshelves, display racks, or even pantries for hosting the occasional tea ceremony. We also introduced special furniture pieces, such as a Murphy bed and library ladder system, to enhance the flexibility of the space. To visually tie together the public areas, including the living room, kitchen, and guest area, we utilized recurring grid frames in the millwork design, experimenting with formal hierarchy of the fins.
